Event Info and Rules

What car show participants & spectators CAN bring:

Sunscreen, cameras, coolers, picnic baskets, ponchos, blankets, folding chairs, baby strollers. Food and refreshment stands are available if you wish to purchase on-site.

What car show participants & spectators CAN NOT bring:

  • Pop-up tents (this includes canopys, EZ-Ups or camping tents) or beach umbrellas. As of 2008 these are not permitted as they block views and can become a safety hazard in windy conditions.
  • Cooking grills are not permitted unless you are an insured sponsor, this includes gas, charcoal and electric.
  • Only PVGP supplied golf carts are allowed on the premises - you are not permitted to bring a personal or rented golf cart.
  • Bicycles are not permitted bacause of the damage caused on fairways and to show cars.
  • Frisbees and footballs or soccer balls are also not permitted because of the risk to spectators and show cars.
  • Absolutely no weapons or fireworks are allowed.
Pittsburgh Police are on duty and will enforce these restrictions.

Rest Rooms
There are 125+ portable rest rooms placed throughout the park for your use. There is also a rest room with running water at the Schenley Park Golf Course Clubhouse. On Saturday, Cortile Car Show participants can use the facilities inside the Pittsburgh Golf Club. There is also are portable rest rooms located on the showfield.

Pets:
Due to the large amount of spectators, corporate tents and moving cars we strongly encourage you to not bring dogs to the event. If you choose to bring your dog you must keep it on a leash and you will be responsible for clean-up and subject to a City fine if not disposed of properly.

On Site Parking:
Public parking, for any non participating car in the Cortile Car Show is available on Flagstaff Hill, across the street from Phipps Conservatory for $15 per car per day - proceeds directly benefit our charities. Free shuttle buses will take you to the golf course or over to the start/finish line. To get there turn right from Forbes Avenue onto Schenley Drive Extension, just before you reach the Carnegie Museum, and proceed through first light and across the bridge. If you want to use a GPS plug in the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at One Schenley Park, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.

Handicap Parking & Accessibility:

The Vietnam Pavilion along the Boulevard of the Allies provides a great view of the golf course and it is handicap accessible. There is a PVGP shuttle bus called the Blue Line/Outer Loop that circles the entire Park and makes regular stops at the Pavilion. There is limited parking available at the Vietnam Pavilion via the Charles Anderson Bridge and Overlook Drive. There is also limited parking available on a first come basis at the Schenley Park clubhouse. The Grand Prix benefits handicaped individuals so we want to make an extra effort to accomodate your needs.

Parking in the Pittsburgh Golf Club lots is NOT permitted: The Golf Club remains open for members during the PVGP event. 
​The back lot of the Golf Club is reserved for members ONLY.

Shuttle Buses:

Free shuttles run throughout Schenley Park and will take you up to the golf course or over to the start/finish line. Stops are made at Flagstaff Hill, the CMU Parking Garage, the clubhouse and to the Start/Finish Line. Map of Schenley Park and Shuttle Bus Routes

Cash /Credit Card Machines:

There will be 6 ATM cash machines on the premises at the clubhouse and large PVGP merchandise tents. The PVGP merchandise booth also have credit card machines that honor all major credit cards.

First Aid:

There is a First Aid station at the Schenley Park Golf Course Clubhouse. It is staffed by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. Hours of operation are 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM Saturday and Sunday. Paramedic vehicles are required on site for race course emergency. If one is needed for a spectator emergency the races will be stopped until a back-up unit can replace it - if it is not a true emergency please come to the clubhouse or stop a PVGP volunteer to radio for help.

Canopy & Tents:

Tents are only permitted if you are an official sponsor, a paying vendor or a participating car club. Tents must be secured through the PVGP and All Ocassion Party Rental - the master tent company. The Grand Prix rents the golf course for the weekend and has the final approval of any tents or display structures on the property. Spectators are not permitted to bring 10' x 10' pop-up tents or beach umbrellas as they block spectator views and can become a safety hazard in windy conditions.

Lost & Found:

The Schenley Park Golf Course Clubhouse radio room, next to the Pro Shop, has a Lost & Found box. The PVGP, its sponsors and car club partners are not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal property.

Golf Carts:

Only PVGP volunteers and sponsors/car clubs are permitted to use golf carts. The Golf Course does not own golf carts, the PVGP contracts to bring them in to help run the event. They are not available for anyone to rent and can not be borrowed. You are not permitted to bring your own golf cart or powered cart onto the golf course.

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association is a federally registered 501c (3) non-profit organization with a mission to hold a world-class vintage automotive race event for charity. 

Since 1983 this volunteer-driven event has raised over $6 million to benefit autistic and developmentally disabled individuals through the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix remains North America's largest vintage race event, the only one run on city streets, and the 8th largest car show in the World.
