Proiettore Macchina 2025: AUTOMOBILI LAMBORGHINI

Welcome to PROIETTORE MACCHINA 2025: AUTOMBILI LAMBORGHINI!

The Cortile Italian Car Show is is delighted to unveil the theme for the 2025 Proiettore Macchina at the Cortile Italian Car Show: Automobili Lamborghini! Mark your calendar for  July 19-20!

In 2024 the Cortile is where we celebrate the rich legacy of small cars and microcars from Italian manufacturers. The development and popularity of these compact vehicles, such as the iconic Iso Isetta and the Fiat 500 series, can be traced back to a combination of practicality, efficiency, and post-war economic conditions. In the aftermath of World War II, Italy faced challenges, leading manufacturers to explore innovative solutions for affordable and fuel-efficient transportation.

The Iso Isetta, with its distinctive front-opening door and compact design, embodied this ethos, providing an ideal solution for navigating narrow European streets. Fiat further contributed to the small car revolution with the timeless Fiat 500, a symbol of affordability and style. The Fiat Jolly, a beach-ready variant, added a touch of glamour to these compact wonders.

The collaboration with Innocenti resulted in the Innocenti Mini, showcasing Italy's knack for adapting global trends to local needs. These small cars not only addressed practical transportation needs but also became cultural icons, embodying the spirit of Italian design and ingenuity.

What is the Proiettore Macchina?
Each year the Cortile selects a marque or model to highlight for the annual event based upon factors such as historical significance, unique local interest, brand resurgence, etc. and this is called our Proiettore Macchina.

The Proiettore Macchina concept was introduced in 2010, the second year of the Cortile. Proiettore, in Italian, is the word for headlight. "Headlight" encapsulates our goal for Proiettore Macchina. We "shine a spotlight" for Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix attendees at unique and not-often-seen marques that have a rich and vibrant design and/or racing history.
