Giulietta. No one seems to know for sure where that name came from, but there is a popular legend: Several of Alfa Romeo's directors, as well as racing driver Jean-Pierre Wimille, ended up in a Paris nightclub at a time near the debut of the Alfa 1900. A clever Russian prince who happened to be in the same nightclub recognized the 8 gentlemen and asked, 'You are eight Romeos, without even 1 Giulietta?'

This monoposta racecar is serial #137, and was manufactured in Modena, Italy, in June of 1959 by Vittorio Stanguellini, also known as the "Magician of Modena." The all aluminum body was produced by Vaccari & Baccrini-Carrozzeria Gransport. The engine is a modified Fiat 1100 cc with Weber twin-choke carburetors and can produce 78 hp at 6500 rpm

Dotti Bechtol and her husband John are long time supporters of the PVGP. Both race at the PVGP. They also own other race cars including a 1972 Porsche 914-6, a 1964 Mini Cooper and 1959 Elva Mark IV which Dotti races at the PVGP. John and Dotti are the founders of the PVGP Tune Up Party on Wednesday of Grand Prix Week.

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association is a federally registered 501c (3) non-profit organization with a mission to hold a world-class vintage automotive race event for charity. 

Since 1983 this volunteer-driven event has raised over $6 million to benefit autistic and developmentally disabled individuals through the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix remains North America's largest vintage race event, the only one run on city streets, and the 8th largest car show in the World.
